Thursday September 17th, 2026, 6:30pm-8:30pm
This year we are hosting a fun recruitment night for interested students (new AND returning) on Thursday September 17th, 6:30pm-8:30pm in the RAHS Cafeteria.
- Get to know students on the team
- Learn about the robotics team through robotics related games
- Get info on how you will fit into the team (out on the field or behind the scenes, we have a place for you! We teach you everything you need to know to help us build a robot)
Robotics Recruitment and Parent Sign Up night
Tuesday September 22nd, 6:30pm-8:30pm is sign-up night. Come for more robotics and bring your parents to get logistical information and to help sign you up for the team.

Meeting Schedule
Robotics is divided in an off-season and a competition season. During the fall trimester, September-December, is our off-season where we focus on training and learning new skills.
From January-May is our competition season where we build a new robot from scratch and take it to compete at various events.
The exact meeting dates may vary based on team needs and mentor availability.
- September & October
Tuesdays 6:30pm-8:30pm (Thursdays optional) - November & December
Tuesdays & Thursdays 6:30pm-8:30pm - January-May Tuesdays & Thursdays 6:30pm-8:30pm
Saturdays (time TBD)
Additional days as needed.
Important Dates
- September 17, 2026 Recruitment Night
New and returning students will meet, get to know each other, and learn about robotics and about our team through games, videos, and activities. Come to the RAHS Cafeteria from 6:30pm-8:30pm - September 22, 2026 Recruitment & Parent sign Up night
Parents and students attend. We will get you signed up for the Firebears. - October 2-4, 2026 MRI/RISE Off Season Tournament
We host the MRI/Rise off season tournament at RAHS and compete
with our 2025/2026 robot. There will be teams from all over Minnesota competing at these events, right here at RAHS. This is also our largest fundraiser of the year. - January 9, 2027 Kick-off
Reveal of the new game for the 2027 competition season. This is where things start getting busy – we will be meeting much more to try to design, build, wire, and program a working robot in 6 weeks. - Early March 2027 Lake Superior Regional Tournament
First official competition of the season (Duluth MN). We travel to Duluth for 3 days of practice matches, qualifier matches, and hopefully playoff matches. - Late March 2027 10,000 Lakes Regional Tournament
Second official competition for the Firebears (Falcon Heights, MN)
This is a local event, held at the fairgrounds. There will be 3 days of practice matches, qualifier matches, and playoff matches. - Worlds & State Depending on performance we might qualify for one of these
